Martin L.
"Marty" Lowy is Senior Litigation Counsel for the Texas Division
of Comerica Bank. His responsibilities at Comerica include
management of all of the Texas Division's litigation,
supervision of outside counsel, and counseling of the Division's
various business units on the avoidance of litigation and the
resolution of disputes both before and during litigation.
Marty is a member of the Texas Association of Bank Counsel and
the Association of Corporate Counsel of America.
Marty has
practiced law in Dallas since 1979 and has been Board Certified
in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization
since 1988. Before joining Comerica in 1997, Marty had an
active and varied litigation practice, representing individuals
and businesses in state and Federal trial and appellate courts.
In 1993, Marty was trained as a mediator, and he conducted
approximately one hundred mediations from 1993 through 1997.
Marty
received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State
University and his Juris Doctor degree from the SMU School of
Law, where he graduated first in his class and served as an
editor of the Journal of Air Law and Commerce. Marty has
taught Texas Civil Procedure as an adjunct professor at the SMU
School of Law, has lectured at numerous continuing legal
education programs, and has held a variety of leadership
positions in the Dallas Bar Association.
